Effective date: 10 May 2026
This statement is published voluntarily by Brandskyl in the spirit of section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, even though Brandskyl’s annual turnover is below the threshold (£36 million) at which a statement is legally required. We believe transparency on this issue matters at every size of business.
Our business
Brandskyl is a small, independent UK-based hat retailer trading at brandskyl.com. We are operated as a sole trader and do not maintain physical retail stores. Our supply chain consists primarily of a small number of UK-based distributors and overseas manufacturing partners (largely apparel-industry standard sources).
Our commitment
Brandskyl has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and any form of exploitative employment. We are committed to:
- Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
- Implementing and enforcing systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in our supply chains.
- Working with suppliers who share our values and meeting recognised ethical-sourcing standards.
Our supply chain
Because we are a small business with a curated product range, our supply chain is intentionally short. We work directly with a small number of distributors and manufacturers, which gives us greater visibility and accountability than a long, fragmented supply chain would.
Where we source from manufacturers based outside the United Kingdom, we ask suppliers to confirm in writing that their operations comply with the labour laws of the country in which they operate, including laws relating to minimum wages, working hours, child labour, forced labour, and freedom of association.
Due diligence and risk assessment
We assess each new supplier against the following criteria before establishing a trading relationship:
- Country of operation and known modern-slavery risk profile (using publicly available indices such as the Global Slavery Index).
- Existence of an internal anti-slavery / labour-rights policy.
- Willingness to provide documentation, audit reports, or certifications on request.
- Reputation and any record of compliance issues.

Continuous improvement
This statement is reviewed annually and updated as our business and supply chain evolve. We are committed to strengthening our processes as we grow, including more formal supplier audits, a written code of conduct for suppliers, and (where practical) third-party certifications.
