Cookie Policy

Effective date: 10 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Brandskyl uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on brandskyl.com, and how you can control them. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy. It is written in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site work properly, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and measure how the site is used. Similar technologies — pixels, web beacons, software development kits, and browser local storage — serve the same purposes. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

How we obtain your consent

Under PECR and the UK GDPR, we must obtain your prior, informed, and freely given consent before placing any non-essential cookies on your device. We do this through a cookie banner that appears the first time you visit brandskyl.com. You can:

  • Accept all cookies — including analytics and marketing cookies.
  • Reject all non-essential cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set.
  • Customise your preferences — choose which categories you accept.

You can change your choice at any time by clicking the cookie-settings link in our footer. Your preference is remembered for future visits.

Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary (no consent required)

Required for the site to function. They keep your shopping cart, remember items you have added, maintain your session while you check out, and help us prevent fraud. These cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Functional (consent required)

Remember your preferences — language, region, recently viewed items — so you don’t have to set them on every visit.

Performance and analytics (consent required)

Help us understand how visitors use the site (which pages they view, where they leave, what works on mobile). We use providers such as Google Analytics. These cookies do not personally identify you to us.

Marketing and advertising (consent required)

Used to show you relevant ads on Google, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and similar platforms, and to measure how those ads perform. Common examples include the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tag.

Specific cookies and providers

First-party cookies (set by brandskyl.com)

  • Shopify cart and session cookies — required for adding items and checking out.
  • Preference cookies — remember language, region, and recently viewed items.
  • Anti-fraud cookies — help us detect abuse and bot traffic.

Third-party cookies (set by services we use)

  • Shopify and shopifycdn.com — checkout, payments, and content delivery.
  • Klarna — for buy-now-pay-later checkout, where you choose it as a payment method.
  • Google Analytics — aggregated site usage statistics.
  • Google Ads — ad performance and conversion measurement.
  • Meta Pixel — Facebook and Instagram ad performance and remarketing.
  • Shopify Inbox (live chat) — to provide real-time customer support, remember your conversation history during your visit, and route messages to our team.

How long cookies last

Some cookies last only for the length of your visit (“session cookies”) and disappear when you close your browser. Others (“persistent cookies”) remain on your device for a set period — typically anywhere from a few days to two years — so the site can recognise you on your next visit.

How to control cookies

In your browser

Most browsers let you block, delete, or limit cookies in their settings. Blocking all cookies will prevent parts of the site (cart, checkout, login) from working.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security.
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies.

Opt out of personalised advertising

You can opt out of personalised ads from many networks at youronlinechoices.eu/uk (Your Online Choices). On mobile, you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (Apple: Settings → Privacy → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

Withdraw your consent

You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the cookie-settings link in our footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret DNT, we do not currently respond to it. You can still control cookies using the methods above.

Children

brandskyl.com is intended for adults. We do not knowingly use cookies to track children under the age of 13.

Right to complain to the ICO

If you believe we have not handled cookies or your personal data properly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (helpline 0303 123 1113). We’d appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices and the law change. The “Effective date” above tells you when it was last revised. If we make material changes we will post a notice on the homepage or update the cookie banner.
